A new road has opened on the northeast side of Mooresville bringing new development opportunities to a large area of rural landscape. The Connector Road completes the east-west corridor from Cornelius Road at Hwy 21 to Mazeppa Road at Hwy 115 and offers an alternative to the heavily congested Hwy 150 main route through the Town of Mooresville. There are also plans for a new interchange at Cornelius Road and I-77 which will ultimately create a direct route to the east side Mooresville Business Park, the rapidly growing industrial park on that side of town. Currently, this new road provides accessibility to large tracts of land, encouraging rapid development in the area. One longtime resident in the area was directly impacted by the new road project which ran right through his farm land.
